NEWS IN BRIEF
Just in time for National Kiss and Make Up Day, a new survey has found that nearly 50 percent of Americans would apologize even if they did not mean it, just to keep the peace.
According to the survey of 1,000 adults, 47 percent say they would apologize, even if they did not mean it, just to keep the peace in their relationship. Men are about 10 percent more likely to apologize just to keep the peace with their spouse or partner. That could be because Americans picked their spouse or partner as the toughest person with whom to make amends.
The survey also revealed that 80 percent prefer to receive an apology via words rather than with 'apologetic actions' such as with a card, flowers or dinner out.
Among celebrity couples, actors Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck topped the list of couples most Americans would like to see kiss and make up and get back together. Country music singers Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert came in second followed by actors Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston.
