If you want your relationship to work wait until date five before sleeping together, according to new research.
Becoming an official boyfriend or girlfriend should come in after around two months of dating, but couples need to wait five months before revealing their past partners or talking about incomes.
And if you want the relationship to work, don't introduce a partner to your parents until at least 4 months in, according to the timeline.
Danish pleasure and lifestyle brand AVEConcept.com polled 2,000 Americans in order to gather a better understanding of modern day intimacy and compiled an official timeline for when events should ideally occur for the perfect relationship based on their experiences.
When feeling brave, Americans think it's ok to dole out criticism on how a partner dresses after just two months and nine days on average, according to results.
Four months and 20 days is about when the average American feels comfortable enough to disclose their sexual likes and dislikes to a new partner, but it isn't until a full month longer that they reckon its okay to begin introducing sex toys into the bedroom.A Spokesperson for pleasure brand AVE said: “Sometimes relationships are all about timing - whether that means introducing a new flame to the family or bringing adventurous new options into the bedroom. What is clear from the survey is that around three to four months are when people actually start getting comfortable.”

Americans also feel you should wait 5.7 months on average before it is okay to ask someone’s credit score.
Of the seven percent of respondents who admit to having a criminal record, it would be two and a quarter months of dating before they felt comfortable revealing their record to a new partner – though more than a quarter of them claim they would disclose their record before or on the first date.
However, respondents admit that if they were dating someone with a criminal record, they think it would be appropriate to bring it up just after one month of dating.
It takes 4 months and eight days before they are okay with not locking the bathroom door in each other’s presence. Adding three more days to that number is when Americans say they would be comfortable crying in front of their love interest.
But there are plenty of things that Americans believe it is NEVER okay to do with a partner. Sixty percent of respondents say that sharing a toothbrush is never a good idea, no matter how long they have been with someone.
One in four thinks that talking about past sexual partners should always be off limits and a third thinks it’s never okay to pass gas in front of one another.
“We understand the importance of feeling comfortable with your partner. That’s why we don’t just focus on sex toys, but more about pleasure and lifestyle,” said the Spokesperson. The survey shows that while people are willing to experience pleasure, they will not do so at the expense of comfort.”
The survey says it should be five weeks and four days before talking about politics, five weeks and three days before discussing religion, six weeks and five days before revealing views on abortion and eight weeks and three days before bringing up an ex-partner.
