The top of the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State building and the Coney Island Wonder Wheel: these are just some of the places Americans admit to having their riskiest ever sex, a new study finds.

From a moving roller coaster to right field in the middle of a baseball game, a new study asked 2,000 Americans to name their riskiest ever sexual location.

Results varied from the mundane to the downright shocking and even plain gross – a haunted house attraction, the NYC subway and in a fast food restaurant’s bathroom were three of the more extraordinary settings for some risqué behavior.

Other places Americans confessed to indulging in a bit of impromptu lust included a port-o-potty, a dentist's chair, and even while driving down the highway.

The shocking results emerged in a study conducted by sex toy store EdenFantasys, which found many an American has had sex in a place they risked getting caught-- 69 percent in fact.

And risks don’t always pay off – 23 percent have actually been caught in the act- according to the data.

The study went on to find some of the most popular places people have had sex other than a bed, and there were some interesting revelations, with seven in ten (68 percent) saying they’ve done it in a car, nearly half (48 percent) have gotten lucky in the kitchen, and a sneaky one in ten (9 percent) have gone the distance in a movie theater.

And you might want to change your sheets if you live with a roommate, because one in ten (12 percent) Americans admit they’ve actually gotten down and dirty in their roommate’s bed.

But there are plenty of fun places to have sex that aren’t in the house because, according to the data, three in four Americans (76 percent) have had sex outdoors.

The most commonplace outdoors venue for some risky business is right in the backyard, with 62 percent listing it as somewhere they’ve become intimate.

Nearly half (46 percent) have done it on a beach, 31 percent on a hiking trail, and a desperate 27 percent have resorted to having sex in a highway rest stop.

The results showed that 66 percent of Americans do indeed consider themselves to be sexually adventurous, but nearly nine in ten (86 percent) admit to occasionally feeling the need to spice up their sex life.

“People are hungry for ever-increasing sexual excitements. The risk of being caught during a sex act is one of multiple sense-deprivation techniques BDSM communities have developed and practiced for ages,” said Fred Petrenko of EdenFantasys.com “Having adventures like these is tons of fun and perfectly healthy for new and old relationships.”

If your relationship is flatlining, the results show that having more adventurous sex is a sure-fire way to pump some life back into it.

Over half of respondents (58 percent) said that having sex somewhere other than a bed made them happier in their relationship, and seven in ten said that having sex in an adventurous location made them feel closer to their partner.

38 percent said they even enjoy sex more if it’s somewhere other than a bed.

And it’s more common than one might think, as 52 percent of Americans that have risky sex with their partner said they’ve done it within the past year.

“EdenFantasys.com has always been supportive of imaginative and adventurous people and the survey gave our product development group tons of ideas,” said Petrenko. “Should we be looking at developing Eiffel tower-themed dildo, or maybe "restaurant bathroom" sex kit? I know, I'd enjoy a Wonder Wheel sex experience!”
